The material will be stockpiled as it is separated at <br />the washing plant and applied to the excavation slopes as planting soil to <br />a depth of 4 to 7 inches during the reclamation process. The soil will <br />then be worked into the top of the sand by discing. <br />Revegetation will be accomplished by reseeding and by replanting <br />native trees at the site. Reseeding will be done in accordance with the <br />recommendation of the U. S, Soil Conservation Service as follows: <br />S ecies Variety %o of Mix Drilled Broadcast <br />(Lbs/Ac. in Mix) <br />Western wheatgrass Barton 30% 4. 8 9.6 <br />Sand dropseed - 30% .2 .4 <br />Crested wheatgrass Nordan 20% 2.0 4.0 <br />Blue grama Covington 20% _4 _8 <br /> Total Lbs/Ac. in Mix 7.4 14. 8 <br />It is anticipated that the seed will be broadcast at the time of planting, <br />preferably in the fall or early spring, and that no fertilizer will be used. <br />Water to initiate germination will be applied by a portable tank truck. <br />Willow and cottonwood trees will be transplanted for the most part <br />from seedlings which are presently growing at the site. Protective <br />shingles along with a regular watering program by tank truck will be <br />utilized to support the continued growth of the trees. <br />
