' It is planned that the reclamation process on a depleted tract will be
completed before extraction on the adjacent tract is finished, so that
' disturbance in the excavation area will be Limited to two tracts at any
' time during the period of the operation.
Each of the eight tracts is anticipated to supply material for
a period of 2-1/2 to 3 years; likewise it is anticipated that reclamation
revegetation on a spent tract will be established and completed within
a period of 2-1/2 to 3 years. With the extraction and reclamation
1 process being performed concurrently on adjacent tracts, the estimated
time to totally extract material in the excavation area is .from 20 to 24
years. An additional 2-1/2 to 3 years will be required to perform
' reclamation on the last tract excavated. A graph of the proposed
' extraction and reclamation stages is shown on the following page.
' Since the excavation area is an open drainageway in Sand Creek
and subject to periodic flooding and deposition of sand, it is probable
' that the timetable will be extended when a flood occurs and sands are
' washed into a tract being worked.
LJ

1
