The perimeter of all azeas affected by surface disturbance will be clearly marked before initiating surface
disturbance activities. The proposed utility borehole pad area is approximately 0.92 acres in size with
minimal cut and fills. Temporazy drainage and sediment control measures (silt fence and/or straw wattles)
will be established prior to proceeding with surface disturbance activities.
Given an average topsoil depth of approximately 6 inches and a total pad disturbance area of
approximately 0.92 acres, approximately 740 cubic yards of topsoil will be salvaged from the pad azea.
Prior to initiating topsoil removal activities, stream and wetland buffer zones will be marked with
identifying signs to limit surface disturbance within these areas to the planned and approved activities.
Topsoil from the pad area will be placed in a stockpile or windrow on the upslope perimeter of the pad.
Topsoil salvage volumes are indicated on Table 49A. Natural vegetative materials (mulch) incorporated
into the topsoil, and seeding with the topsoil stockpile stabilization seed mixture identified on page 2.05-
121 will stabilize the stockpiled topsoil. Active use areas will be graveled to control dust and drainage,
other disturbed areas (including topsoil stockpiles) will be stabilized with temporary vegetation.
MROS-198 2.05-45.66 08/29/05
