Slormwaler Manaeement Plan t22ft/97
•
3.4 Sandstone Quarry
The sandstone quarry is located on the north side of Tallahassee Creek. Anew access
road will be built from the gravel bar plant area to the sandstone quarry. The Tallahassee
Creek crossing will be the same as the granite quarry crossing. 3 acres will be disturbed at
this site with about 2 acres for mining and ]acre for product preparation and stockpiling.
Initial activities at the sandstone quarry site include topsoil salvage and placement onto the
storm water berm or into the temporary topsoil stockpile in the gravel baz area. As
discussed in the project's reclamation plan, some topsoil may be available for salvage from
the neazly level processing azea while little is available from the quarry site. The quarry
floor and processing azea will be graded to be free-draining to a small sediment pond
which will dischazge via infiltration and through a storm water berm. These erosion
control measures will be maintained for the life of the project.
staoulzatlon oracuces mcluoe:

XX Temporary Seeding _ Mulching
_ Silt Fences _ Erosion Control Blankets
Straw Bale Dikes _ Temporary Drain Diversion
Temporary Sediment Basins _ Brush Barriers
XX Stabilize Access Road XX Preserve Existing Vegetative Buffers
XX Draina a Swales/Ditches Earth Dikes
rermanenr
XX Permanent Seeding _ Sod Stabilization
Check Dams XX Vegetative Buffer Strips
_ Grassed Waterways _ Erosion Control Blankets
XX Drainage Swales/Ditches XX Earth Dikes
_ Pipe Slope Drain _ Level Spreader
_ Subsurface Drain Sediment Traps
XX Drain Inlet Protection XX Sediment Basin/Pond
XX Rock Outlet Protection Terraced Slopes
_ Flood Protection Revetment XX Preserve Existing Vegetative Buffers
XX Stabilize Access Road XX Culvert
Page 12
