We hope that the following text of this letter <br />will warrant a hearing / or a review by the "Board" over the concerns outlined cy local <br />citizens of the Montrose community and of our group of local land owners. <br />The following outlined conoems stem from a hub of 18 surrounding landowners who <br />are the spokespersons of a large and growing number a Montrose County residents <br />from whom you will be hearing from personally in the near future. <br />A. Loas of Scenk Value <br />-t. We are bpted t0 miles rank from the entrance to a starlit byway <br />2. Surrounding businesses solely rely on the mayesty and beauty of our <br />area attraabns (i.e. campground, bed & breakfast, outdoor adventures <br />- aid outMSinng. ch;zk'wagon, and rEteau>. <br />3. Uncompahgre giver walk and bike (right -of-way has been <br />obtained and planned over a year from united's application). Thls <br />path passes directly b front of the proposed mine/asphalU concrete <br />mod. <br />8. Diminished Property Values <br />We are In the most hlghty requested area of the Uncompahgre Valley <br />real estate. Values are at the highest ever, due to the area s dtatacter of <br />agriculture, majestic views of the San Juan Mountains, the Cirtlarrons, the <br />Uncompahgre Plateau, and the Uncompahgre Aiver. The proposed "out- of- <br />character' operation will have tremendously adverse effects'during <br />operation' on real estate and quality of living. <br /> <br />
