Illllllllllllllllll
RECEIVED
AUG 21 1978
August 21, 1978
MINED LAND RECLAMATION 1420 Trenton Street
cc!. DePt. of Nstura! p2SC"rCes Denver, Colorado
olorado
80220
i
Mined Lend Reclamation Board
Denver, Colorado
Dear.Sirs:
Antonia C. and Lloyd W. and Exie P. White should like to object to the
issuance of a mining and recl-mation permit to Nelson Contractors to mine
in the SO of Section 32, Township 6 South, Range 71 West of the 6th PM
at the area called Shaffer's Crossing, File No. 78-208, objection
contingent upon the last paragraAh of this letter.
We are owners of a Parcel of land (1 acre +) with the legal description
of "part of the NEf of the SW+ of Section 32, Township 6 South, Range 71
West'of the 6th FM. This land has a winterized log cabin and several
sheds. The mining operation will occur directly on the other side of
our fence. Two of us are retired and the other is near retirement age.
We were in the process of selling the cabin in order to add to our
retirement income. We cannot do so with a mine operation occurring so
near. We cannot understand why we were not contacted two ,years ago when
the first slash went in. We cannot, at our age, wait five years for
reclamation in order to realize our investment. We, furthermore, cannot
ethically now sell the cabin without telling the buyer of the potential
mining operation across his fence.
We have researched out the involvement of all agencies in this mining
operation and have contacted and negotiated with the Nelson Contractors
for 'parchase of our parcel of land. Nelson Contractors have given us
a $16000 check as downpayment on the purchase of our property contingent
upo the forthcoming survey indicating that our property actually does
contain at least 1 acre of land.
Lf Aelgog Contractors actually Purchase our land we will wish to withdraw
our objection to the mining and reclamation permit at Schaffers Crossing,
File no. 78-208.
Sincerely yours, '
Antonia C. White
Li ovWW.
