i-! <br />SURFACE COAL MINING LEASE <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this <br />9lH day of <br />L~~IL'F , 1979, by and between CFI STEEL CORPORATION, <br />a Colorado corporation, whose address is Post Office Box <br />316, Pueblo, Colorado 81002, hereinafter referred to as <br />`CF6I,` and RAVENivOOD COAL COMPANY, a Colorado corporation, <br />whose address is Post Office Box 4, Aguilar, Colorado 81020, <br />hereinafter referred to as `Ravenwood"; <br />W I T N E S S E T H: <br />WHEREAS, Ravenwood is presently engaged in surface <br />~ning of adjacent coal properties and is desirous of ob- <br />taining the right and license to mine coal by surface <br />mining methods on certain lands described below; and <br />WHEREAS, CF6I is agreeable to entering into.a lease <br />with Ravenwood on the terms and conditions hereinafter set <br />forth. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the payments of <br />royalty herein specified and the due and proper performance <br />of all conditions and covenants herein contained, CFI, as <br />Lessor, does hereby demise and lease unto Ravenwood, as <br />Lessee, the lands hereinafter described, situate, lying, <br />and being in the County of Huerfano, State of Colorado, <br />° the purpose of strip mining and appropriating the coal <br />~~ <br />from the following described lands, to wit: <br />T. 29 S., R. 65 W. of the 6th P.M. <br />SW 1/4 Sec. 19s excepting the surface of <br />2.63 acres conveyed to W. S. Thomas on <br />10/15/30, 20 acres conveyed to A. M.
