<br />INTRODUCTION <br />Our investigation of the Adams Aggregates, Inc., <br />properties in Sections 14 and 23, T. 1 S., R. 67 W., (see <br />Figure 1) revealed that the gravel deposits on the subject <br />property are of two types. <br />1. Marginal gravel deposits in Parcel No. 1. <br />2. Marginal and suitable deposits in gortions <br />of Parcel Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. <br />FIELD INVESTIGATION <br />Our investigation, which included a brief on-site <br />inspection, confirmed that the Adams County Planning Depart- <br />ment map of these deposits is a satisfactory representation <br />of the deposits which will be encountered in each of these <br />areas. The "suitable" accumulations of gravel as outlined <br />on the Adama County map are commercial deposits and are similar <br />to those being extracted dust south of the sub,~ect property. <br />The marginal deposits, although less attractive, are suitable <br />Yor some specific commercial applications. <br />Two different t~pes of gravel deposits are present. <br />The ones in Parcel No. 1 are dry and can be removed without <br />encountering water table conditions. However, the deposits <br />on the remainder of the property are in areas of a shallow <br />ground water table. Excavation to remove these deposits will <br />require some form of dewatering equipment or dikes. <br />
