• Section 816.114(cj Continued.
As required by Section 816.213, selected cereal grains will be
planted as contemporaneously as possible once topsoiling has been
completed. The time of anticipated planting of the live mulch will
be in the spring and in the fall. In this regard, it is unlikely
that reapplied topsoil will remain in an unvegetated condition for
more than two or three months.
(d) Chemical soil stabilizers alone, or in combination with appropriate
mulches, may be used in conjunction with vegetative covers approved for
the postmining land use.
At this time, Kerr Coal does not anticipate that any chemical
stabilizers will be utilized to satisfy the requirements of 30 CFR
186.114(a). If chemical soil stabilizers are required, Kerr Coal
• will utilize one of the tackifiers recommended by Cook, et al. (1972)
as having no properties that inhibit plant growth.
.~
816-154R Revised - August, 1990
