Commerce City's
Comprehensive Plan has designated the area between East 104`" and East 112`h
Avenues and Brighton Boulevard and US 85 for future residential and retail uses. One
development, Belle Creek, already has been approved for 1000-dwelling units within this
area. We believe that allowing a gravel operation within this area is a mistake and
incompatible with residential uses.
This property does not appear to be in an area that contains significant mineral deposits,
as defined by the state. Additionally, it is not within the Mineral Conservation Overlay
Zone District, as defined by Adams County. The City is opposed to the mining of this
property.
Sincerely,
Neil Goodenough
Planning Manager
c: Rob Coney, Adams County Planning Manager
Steve House, Director of Community Development
.~'t~.
