The empirical <br />• constants and the unconfined compressive strength for a formation <br />were then used to determine the Mohr Failure Envelope for that <br />formation. The average unconfined compressive strength was used <br />to determine the typical Mohr Failure Envelope and the average <br />unconfined compression strength minus one standard deviation was <br />used to determine the conservativa~7ohr -Failure Envelope. The <br />Mohr Failure Envelope for each of the formations having tested <br />data available are shown in Appendix A. For Formations 1, 2, 5 <br />and 14 data for similar lithologies from the available test data <br />i <br />was used to estimate their strength properties.
