Drilling <br />of these wells probably caused the slightly higher values initially. <br />The TDS of the QR water down-dip at well GP-5 is nearly twice the value 5000 <br />feet upgradient at well GP-6. Figure 2.7-28c shows [hat the TDS in the QR aquifer <br />has been steady at this site, also. The natural increase in TDS as water moves <br />slowly down-dip in these aquifers is expected. <br />The pH of the QR aquifer is above neutral and generally approximately eight. <br />Figure 2.7-28d shows the field pH for the QR water from well GP-1. The relatively <br />steady values is typical of water in [he QR aquifer. <br />• Bicarbonate and sulfate are generally the anions with largest concentrations <br />from the three QR wells in the eastern half of Trapper. Sulfate is low in QR well <br />CP-6. Sodium is the dominant cation in the QR aquifer. <br />KLM Aquifer <br />The baseline water quality has been defined in the eastern half of the Trapper <br />Mine with wells GP-2, GP-4 and GP-8. The TDS at each of these sites is close to 800 <br />mg/L. Figures 2.7-28e, 2.7-28f and 2.7-28g present the TDS plots for wells GP-2, <br />GP-4 and GP-8, respectively. These plots show that the TDS has been steady at each <br />of these sites in the KLM aquifer. <br />The pH of the KLM aquifer, similar to the QR aquifer, is slightly above <br />• neutral.
