November 2006. <http://ndis.nrel.colostate.edu/wildlife.asp>. <br />There are three species, Greater Sage Grouse (Centrocercus uronhasianus), Columbian <br />Sharp-Tailed Grouse (T~mnanuchus nhasianellus columbianus) and Greater Sandhill Crane <br />(Gros canadensis tabida), that have been observed either on site or adjacent to the mine site <br />during the 1979 to 1980 study. These species have been previously discussed. <br />The Greater Sandhill Crane (Gros canadensis tabida), previously considered endangered, <br />currently listed as a species of special concern by the state of Colorado was observed adjacent to <br />the mine site. Several greater Sandhill cranes, a subspecies of the Sandhill crane, were observed <br />on one occasion in September 1979 adjacent to Trout Creek.
