SHELTON, Director
March 11, 1986
Mr. John T. Ungefug
Southwest Ready-Mix, Inc.
117 White Pine Drive
Alamosa, Colorado 81101
Re: Rich Pit - 112 Application - File No. M-85-218
Dear Mr. Ungefug:
• ~~~ I~~I~~~I~III~ I~~
I have completed my adequacy review of the above captioned operation and have
several questions and comments organized on an exhibit-by-exhibit basis
below. Any exhibit or part thereof not mentioned is now considered adequate
for Board approval during the scheduled March 20, 1986 meeting of the Mined
Land Reclamation Board (8:00 a. m. - 6:00 p.m., Quality Inn International,
Highway 50 and Dozier Avenue, Canon City, Colorado).
Given the need to incorporate the various revisions into the permit, such that
there was only one actual application document to review, this adequacy letter
is being sent to you more shortly before the Board meeting than I had
planned. Please try to respond to this letter to me here at our office by
March 14, 1986 if at all possible. If not, you may contact me at the Quality
Inn mentioned above (phone 275-8676) starting on Monday, March 17, 1986.
However, given the fact that I will be going to the field and merely basing
myself out of this hotel, it may be somewhat difficult for us to resolve any
complex questions. Given the existence of the 111 permit on this same site,
if you cannot respond to this adequacy letter by t4arch 14, 1986, I would
strongly suggest that your request a continuance until the April 23-24, 1986
meeting. By that time, I am sure that this application could be heard by the
Board as a "no problem" approval. In any case, please contact me concerning
your intentions by March 14, 1986.
Exhibit C - Pre-Mining and Mining Plan Map(s)
1, On several of the maps, a dash-dot line is shown which crosses back and
forth over the northern, eastern and western boundaries of the pit area
and runs parallel to the haul road. Presumably, this is a ditch.
Cu~ Please identify this feature. If it is an irrigation ditch (or other
ditch) please give information about it (e.g., protection during mining,
ownership, possible need for protection agreement with owner,
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
