The proposed exploration locations are generally in areas previously disturbed by historic coal
exploration or mining activities and/or agricultural operations, and have been located adjacent to
existing county roads, developed coal haulage roads or ranch roads, where feasible. Cultural
resource clearances have been completed for the proposed drill-sites. Review of the proposed
locations by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (CDOW) did not identify any potentially impacted
resources requiring avoidance or specific mitigation measures (refer to accompanying
documentation).
It is anticipated that no road construction will be required to access the sites, since most are
adjacent to existing roads or undeveloped jeep trails, and the proposed activities are planned for
the period of July through October, when Favorable ground conditions prevail, Reclamation of
exploration disturbance areas will involve plugging and sealing the coreholes and drillholes,
allowing the mud pits to dry-out and then backfilling the pits, regrading the drill pads, replacing
windrowed soil material, and reseeding the areas CCR has developed the reclamation seed
mixture in consultation with CDOW, however, for exploration pads on agricultural lands the
disturbance with be reseeded as requested by the landowner. For purposes of bonding, CCR has
estimated the cost for reclamation of the proposed exploration disturbance is approximately
$46,975.
We Hope to initiate the proposed exploration activities as soon as possible, following receipt of all
required approvals; therefore, we would appreciate your consideration and cooperation in
facilitating timely review and approval of this submittal. Once you have had opportunity to
review this submittal package, please feel free to contact me at 970-870-2712 with any questions
or comments.
Best regards,
(for Colorado Cces, LLC)
Scott J ry M. leton
Environme al pervisor
Attachments
cc: Routt County Clerk and Recorder
R.
