approximately 10 inches of topsoil on lands being reclaimed to rangeland (refer to Sections 3.8.2.2 and
3.8.3.2). Based on the Redente topsoil study, Trapper is now establishing a 12"+2" replacement depth
on rangeland and 18"+2" on cropland (see Section 4.9.1).
All of the lands disturbed prior to May of 1978 have been retopsoiled with approximately 18 inches on
areas being returned to cropland and up to 12 inches on areas being returned to rangeland, inGuding the
old Empire Energy pk. The topsoil balance over the period of this proposed pertnk is described in Tables
4.9-3 and 4.9-4.
All areas disturbed will receive approximately 12 inches of topsoil on lands reclaimed to rangeland and
approximately 18 inches on lands reclaimed to cropland. One exception to this is the area disturbed for a
scoria pk at the south end of Cott Pk. The scoria pit was pertnilted in Jury of 1978 by the Colorado Mined
land ReGamation Board. The ske occurted on a side hill and had relatively shallow soils which averaged
eight inches in depth. Commensurate wkh the pertnk for the scoria pk, eight inches of topsoil were
replaced. Topsoil replacement and seeding of the scoria pk were inkially completed in the fall of 1986.
Following inkial topsoil replacement, the scoria pk was redisturbed by Cok pk's mining advance. The
area was retopsoiled in 1989 to approximately 12 inches and appropriatery seeded.
•
•
4-26D
Pe-~I
. M~~t_1.3.1.998._. _ .
