(i) Due to the location and topography of the site, the proposed mining
operation will not come into contact with any ground or surface
water. All stormwater will be contained within the permit boundary
with the exception of a portion of the access roadway bar ditch
discussed in paragraph (g). As an added precaution, however, a silt
fence or equivalent will be placed along the active pit boundaries
where offsite stormwater flows are deemed possible.
(j) Water used for dust control will be obtained with appropriate permits
and/or applicable water rights.
(k) No refuse or acid or toxic producing materials are present in the
proposed mining area.
(1) No impact to the hydrologic balance will result from the proposed
mining activity. Off-site damage will be minimized through
implementation of best management practices. These include the
method and direction of mining, the placement of silt fences and
sedimentation control structures discussed above, and overall
operational constraints set by the owner/applicant.
(m) The deposit will be processed on-site, within the proposed permit
boundaries.
(n) The primary material processed will be road base and crushed
aggregates for use on ranch roads, driveways, septics and other
improvements within Continental Divide Ranch and the adjacent
Navajo Peak Ranch. Secondary products may include screened
gravel used for bedding purposes and oversize gabion for erosion
control.
(o) No incidental products are anticipated in the proposed operation,
Any interburden encountered will be removed and stockpiled for use
in reclamation.
(p) No explosives will be used in conjunction with the proposed mining
operation.
