I • SEDCAD NOTES
REFUSE AREA #2/3 -RECLAMATION
Typical values
Soils: Primarily originating from Forelle (B), Turley (B), Potts (B), and
Bowbac (B) with limited salvage from Moyerson (D). Hydrologic
soil group C was used as a conservative estimate.
CN = 84 Cultivated ag. Lands -Small grain -straight row -poor condition.
Soil K = 0.28 From NRCS
L =various Measured
S =various Measured
C = 0.24 Mulch under construction -Straw, 1 ton/acre.... -Subsoil - 1
and 30% gradients
P = 1.0
i • Variations from `Typical' values
For Structure #1, RP-2/3 Sediment Pond, the following variables were used:
CN = 98 Elevated due to impervious nature of pond.
C = 0.10 Very little erosion. Much of area is already part of sediment storage
area.
For Structure #2 & 11 watersheds, haul road, the CN was raised to 98 due to
permeability and C was lowered to 0.15 due to the gravel surface.
For Structure #3 and 4 watersheds, the CN was lowered to 81 since a substantial
portion of the areas contain undisturbed shrublands.
General Notes
• Minor adjoining sections of watersheds with undisturbed or miscellaneous
contributions included in analysis acreages.
• Model sensitivity to `C' and associated sediment yield is low since
sediment retention structures were engineered to accept runoff from bare
refuse.
• Model conservative due to using worst case conditions with out
consideration for consolidation, plant growth, surface roughening, etc.
