Stover & Associates
2768 Compass Dr. -Suite l0l
Grand Junction, CO 81506
Re: Drill Site BRL1-GMW-Ol Habitat and Wildlife Survey
Dear Greg:
Following is a summary of my habitat and wildlife observations at Site BRL1-GMW-01
BLM stipulations require that prior to construction of any drill pad or access road the Licensee will
be regttu•ed to conduct a survey for threatened, endangered and sensitive species and their habitat in
the area to be disturbed and/or impacted. In addition, surveys for nesting raptors will be conducted
• prior to development of any surface facilities. Surveys are to be conducted prior to atrv drilling
activities in the year of the proposed activities.
The area within a d00 foot radius of site BRLI-GMW-O1 was surveye<t for Threatened,
Endangered and other Species of Concern Cur both state and federal listings. The same area was
surveyed for migratory bird species of high federal and/or state interest. An area four hundred feet
on each side of the proposed access road corridor from an existing road in the SE1/4 of Section 15
to the drill site in the NE1/4 of Section 22 was also surveyed.
A 112 mile radius was surveyed aoound the site for raptors listed as Threatened, Endangered or
Species of Concem and for raptors which are listed as migratory bird species of high federal and/or
state interest.
Habitat condition surveys were conducted on and immediately around the drill site and along the
proposed access road corridor. During a conversation with Dusty Dyer (BLM) on August 3 we
discussed the fact that neither the del! ~te ^cr access read had bee^ :aid out ~y a sutveycr. u.. fel:
that the approximate line he had identified for the road and drill site as identified nn a yuad sheet
submitted to J.E. Stover & Associates would be close enough for the wildlife survey. upon
walking the proposed corridor I agree that he picked the preferred access route and the obvious
location for the well is where Ire recommended.
FINDINGS
IIABITAT
• Site
Thhis site is located near the end oY a ridge between the East and West Forks of Roatcap Creek at
approximately 7900 feet. The proposed d!~i'a site Incadoa is at a generally Oat area near the end of
TR-` 3 8'
APPRodE~ 9~z4~o ~
