III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ERHIBIT "B"
PfINING PLAN
PSountain Shadows pit will continue to primarily be used by CCDC
as a source of road material in the development. This is an excellent
deposit with only 1' - 3' of overburden and a 20' - 30' seam of
aggregate. This pit was designated as "Commercially Extractable" in
the Front Range mapping under H.B. 1529.
As shown on the Mining Plan and Timetable, excavation will start at
the southeast corner and proceed west. This area was stripped earlier
by the previous operator. Overburden from the 1981 and 1982 phase will
~. be stockpiled to the north and then replaced on the 1980, 1981 and 1982
phase when excavation is complete. The overburden from the remaining
segments will probably be stockpiled in the 1981 segment and then re-
placed on backslopes as excavation progresses.
Stripping will be done with dozer and scraper. Excavation will be with
front end loaders transporting to the crusher. Stockpiled material from
the crusher will be loaded into trucks for delivery as required on roads
within the development.
The Company presently excavates something less than 1'--; Acres per year,
and affected land will be used for less than 180 days per year (34-32
103(6) II. Less than 70,000 tpy of combined overburden and mineral will
be removed from the site annually. The proposed timetable of excavation
is an approximation based on a best estimate of development and other
demands.
~•
