Johnston <br />Mountain Coal Company <br />Post Office Box 591 <br />Somerset, Colorado 81434 <br />Dear Ms. Johnston: <br />We are responding to your written request dated January 13, <br />1997, for an extension of time to complete work authorized by <br />nationwide general permit number 21 and verified by our letter <br />dated July 29, 1996. The authorized work involves the discharge <br />of fill material into 0.88 acre of isolated wetland for refuse <br />pile expansion and a minor road crossing. The project is located <br />within Section 10, Township 13 South, Range 90 West, Gunnison <br />County, Colorado. <br />On December 13, 1996, the Corps of Engineers published new <br />and reissued nationwide general permits in the Federal Register. <br />These permits will become effective on February 11, 1997. <br />Since you have commenced or are under contract to perform <br />the authorized work, prior to January 21, 1997, in reliance upon <br />the earlier nationwide general permit, your work remains <br />authorized provided it is completed before January 21, 1998. You <br />must also continue to comply with all other terms and conditions <br />specified in our July 29, 1996 letter as well as the commitments <br />made in your previous submittals. <br />This permit verification will be valid until January 21, <br />1998, unless the nationwide general permit is modified, reissued, <br />or revoked.
