Nicolas Brothers Pit
EXHIBIT B
Site Description
Item 1 - Information on vegetation and soil characteristics are
part of the Soil Conservation information included with
Exhibit D.
Item 2 - Within 200' of the pit site there is an irrigation
ditch and a waste water ditch as identified on the map.
They are part of the Nicolas Brother's ranching
operation. There are also some wooden corrals used by
that operation.
Item 3 - The Little Cimarron River is on the west side of the
pit, well out of the pit boundaries.
Item 4 - On July 23, 1991, I spoke with Rick Sherman of the
Colorado Division of Wildlife in Montrose, Colorado.
He was familiar with the pit location which is an old
sawmill site. He saw no wildlife problems with
crushing the upper bench. We will not be disturbing
the river or the riparian area. He indicated that any
clean up of the site would be a benefit to the area.
