Post Damage Monitoring
• Post-damage monitoring will oe wnducted like the pre-damage monitoring.
Ptining Techniques
Conventional roonrand-pillar mining with pillar extraction 'will be used
throughout the permit area. 'ibis will affect the local perched we ter bear-
ing acne, but will have no effect on meter utilization.
Limited mining will be conducted in buffer areas designated by BLM in Lease
#fC-37210. Within these areas below the Steven's CLlch and East Ibatcap
alluvium, only development entries will be mined. See Map 2~. In areas
between 600 and 800 ft. of overburden, the alluvium will be undermined using
development only, and no pillar recovery. Calculations show that this
limited extraction will maintain the surface areas with no subsidence. See
Pillar Stability l~port, Volume 2. In areas of greater than 800 ft. of
overburden, conventional rornrand-pillar technique with pillar extraction
will be conducted.
• Repair Procedure
No repair procedures are required because no cracking is possible below the
Steven's Gulch and Fast lbatcap alluvium. 'This is assured by the long-term
stability of the pillars remaining.
The local perched water-bearing a~nes would be disrupted, but are limited in
extent and are mt put to beneficial use. IJU effect on area water util iza-
tion is anticipated.
•
