PureGold® Grout "sF
CERTIFIED
Description: PureGold® Grout is an easy mixing, single component, organic free,
' high solids bentonite clay grout. It was engineered to form acon-
taminantresistant seal without affecting groundwater chemistry.
PureGold® Grout is a technically superior replacement for tradi-
' tional cement grouts. It will form a low permeable flexible clay seal
which impedes interaquifer fluid movement and the infiltration of
' surface contaminants into the borehole.
Recommended Use: PureGold® Grout should be used in the sealing of boreholes or the
' annular space of monitoring wells to control contaminant infiltration
roundwater

' Characteristics: o Contaminant free, all 116 priority pollutants tested for were below
CLP detection limits.
o Chemically stable, results from TCLP Metals Analysis are below
RCRA limits for hazardous constituents.
o pH range from 5-6 standard units
.
o Low permeability, laboratory test results range from 1x10- to
' 1x10-9 cm/sec against permeants ranging from a pH of 2 to12.
o Will not damage well casing, no heat generated during mixing or
curing.
' o Low formation loss, minimum flow through highly permeable
soils.
o Remains flexible, maintains putty-like consistency over time and
will re-hydrate.
Mixing and PureGold° Grout should be mixed with a grout mixer or a mud
Application: rotary recirculation system and tremied with a positive displacement
' pump. It can be mixed in a slurry up to 30% solids, remains
placeable for up to two hours and sets in eight hours.
' To achieve a 30% solids slurry, add one SO lb. bag of powered grout
to 14 gallons of fresh water. This mixing ratio will yield approxi-
' mately 2.2 cu. ft. of grout. Prior to placement, the grout should have
a mud balance density reading of approximately 10 ]bs./gal, Grout-
ing is complete once the same mud balance reading is achieved from
' grout purged from the borehole. This simple quality control test will
ensure proper grouting and eliminate inconsistencies in the field.
,• Packaging: PureGold° Grout is packaged in SO lb. multi-wall, weather resistant
bags, shipped 48/50 lb. bags per pallet, and stretch-wrapped.
