Stover & Associates, Inc.
2768 Compass Drive, Suite 101
Grand Junction, CO 81506
Re: Bear No. 3 Mine. CDMG Permit No. C-1981-033
Request for Structure Demolition.
Dear Mr. Sfover
As you are aware, Oxbow Carbon and Minerals, LLC owns certain lands located in the subject
Bear No # 3 mine permit area. In particular, the lands are located in SE1/4 Section 8 and NE1/4
Section 17, T13S, R90W, 6"' P.M.
The frame dwelling located on the properly formerly served as the mine office. We request that
the building be razed and all building contents, foundations, debris, nebbish, windblown debris,
containers, tanks, tires, scrap metal, etc. be removed from the property. We request that the
single power pole located near the building, including associated hardware and transformer,
also be removed.
It is our understanding that the pond associated with the Edwards Mine portal spring may soon
be drained and the pond reclaimed in accordance with the approved reGamation plan. We have
no objections to the burial of the razed building materials in the pond backfill provided that 1) all
hazardous wastes and the electrical transformer are removed from the site and properly
disposed of and 2) the building debris is covered by at least 3 feet of earthen materials.
Please contact me at 970-929-5806 if you have any questions concerning this issue.
Sincerely,
a ~i~
ames A.
