Box 18i
Craig, CO 81626
Dear Mr. Agnew:
It is my opinion that reclaimed lands developed for post-mining use as grazing
lands certainly should be grazed, if for no other reason than to prove that they are
indeed suited for grazing as intended by the reclamation plan. This would be a
satisfying experience for the planners and for the state reclamation board.
• I am not sure that all of your hypotheses will be proven by grazing, but they are
strong possibilities if the grazing is properly administered. In most western states,
grazing must be administered for three to five years prior to final release of the bond
monies; thus, you are following through with the proper procedure for reclaimed mined
lands. You, indeed, have my vote to graze and demonstrate that you indeed
reclaimed grazing for mined lands.
Sincerely,
C ' C~•'uynC L~'~i
C.
