Probably of greater consequence however, <br />was the extremely dry soil moisture conditions that occurred during livehaul transport of <br />the topsoil resource. Our records indicate moisture amounts of 29%a of normal (April and <br />May) immediately prior to topsoil transport. This may be the primary factor which <br />resulted in the low number of woody plants established on our 1989 Derringer pit no-seed <br />plot.
