Also at each major public access Co the mine area is an orange sign with black
lettering that warns of blasting operations taking place and that clearly
explains the blasting signals used at the Trapper Mine. Mounted directly below
this is a sign stating "Warning! Explosives in Use" (Figure 3.1-2). Addition-
ally, bright orange cones and octagonal signs are used to mark and identify the
immediate blasting area. Signs are located at each mine road within 50 feet of
the blasting area. These signs are cectangular in shape and state "Danger Blast-
ing Area" (Figure 3.1-2).
Topsoil markers are used to identify all topsoil storage areas. Twu types are
used. However, both are similar in that a large black "T" is displayed to iden-
tify topsoil stockpiles (Figures 3.1-3).
Perimeter markers identify the perimeter of the permit area. These markers are
located at corners and on line where needed to clearly identify the permit area.
Again, two types of markers are used. Each is identifiable by a large black "P"
facing towards the permit area (Figures 3.1-4).
Both the topsoil and perimeter markers are mounted on the top of steel posts at
an appropriate height to be seen above the surrounding vegetation.
3-4
