The overburden in this proposal consists of the topsoil. Replacement <br />t of 1:he topsoil will be done in horizons and in the amaunts available based <br /> on a reasonably uniform soil depth. Topsoil will be replaced and seeded <br />t as >oon as practical after a specific area is mined to its final contour. <br /> This is intended to occur on a continuing basis but in any event will occur <br />' at least once a year. <br /> 2. The maximum grade of reclaimed slopes will be 3:1. <br /> 3. Topsoil thickness (A and B horizons) is expected to average about 12 <br /> inch=s. <br /> 4. Fertilizers are not expected to be used. (Please see soil test report <br /> atta~~hed). Cover cmp seeding may occur fran early April through mid Sep- <br />' temb~r with the exception of the mid July to Mid August period. Primacy <br /> reseeding is expected to take place in early spring with the ground being <br />' discecl to ensure compaction does not became a problem. <br /> 5. Apure seeding of Luna Pubescent Wheat Grass is planned on 3:1 slopes. <br />' Seeding rate is 14.0 pounds pure live seed per acre drilled. Bottom areas <br /> are to be seeded with a mixture of alfalfa and timothy. Seeding rates <br />' for the mixture will be 4 pounds pure live seed per acre alfalfa and 1 <br /> pound pure live seed timothy. <br />' 6. :•eed is to be drilled. <br /> 7. INulch used will be either long stemred hay or straw applied at 4000 <br />t pounds per acre. Mulch will be anchored by crimping to a depth of at least <br /> 4 inches. At least 50°s of the mulch by weight will be 10 inches or more <br /> in length. <br /> <br />
