Doc Date:12/11/2001~ III IIIIIIIIIIIII III
f
< t Rule 4.19 Protection of Underground Mining
~- The applicant intends to mine over old underground workings
in Phase 1, and to a lesser extent in Phase 2, of the mining
operation if thicknesses of roof coal remaining are sufficient
to allow equipment to strip the cover. The proposed method of
initial opening of the underground rooms and guard against
exposure to Coal Damp, Methane, and other gasses is discussed on
pages 6 8 7 in Rule 2.05.3. In this section questions raised
by the Division of Mines have been answered, however more may be
forthcoming before approval of mining over the old workings is
approved. The local State Mine Inspector will be notified prior
to initial opening of the workings, and his presence for the
event will be appreciated. MSHA has approved a Ground Control
Plan, and a copy ID No. 05-04246, is in Exhibit 00.
_~
~~~~ _ r•
_ ~~ . _._ l
