Doc Date:12/11/2001~ III IIIIIIIIIIIII III <br />f <br />< t Rule 4.19 Protection of Underground Mining <br />~- The applicant intends to mine over old underground workings <br />in Phase 1, and to a lesser extent in Phase 2, of the mining <br />operation if thicknesses of roof coal remaining are sufficient <br />to allow equipment to strip the cover. The proposed method of <br />initial opening of the underground rooms and guard against <br />exposure to Coal Damp, Methane, and other gasses is discussed on <br />pages 6 8 7 in Rule 2.05.3. In this section questions raised <br />by the Division of Mines have been answered, however more may be <br />forthcoming before approval of mining over the old workings is <br />approved. The local State Mine Inspector will be notified prior <br />to initial opening of the workings, and his presence for the <br />event will be appreciated.
