The average annual production of air-dry <br />vegetation ranges from 800 to 1,300 pounds. <br />Windbreaks and environmental plantings are difficult [o establish on <br />[his soil. Addi[lu nal moisture is needed fur lung term survival. tiummer <br />fallow, supplemental watering during planting and early stages of growth, <br />contour planting in diversion channels, and continued cultivation for weed <br />control are needed to insure establishment and survival of seedling. Among <br />the trees [hat are suitable for planting are Rocky Mountain juniper, <br />eastern redcedar, ponderosa pine, Siberian elm, Russian-olive, and <br />hackberry. Among the shrubs are skunkbush sumac, lilac, Siberian peashrub, <br />and American plum. <br />These soils are well suited for urban development. They have only <br />minor limitations which are easily overcome. High hazard of soil blowing <br />is the primary limitation. <br />This map unit is in capability subclasses IIe, irrigated, and IVe, <br />nonirrigated. It is in Loamy Plains range site. <br />
