Elevations were provided by Basin Resources based <br />upon altimeter readings. The test results indicate compaction generally exceeds 90 <br />percent of maximum standard Proctor dry density (ASTM D 698). <br />We also measured groundwater in the monitor wells on the lower three <br />• benches of the New Elk refuse disposal area. The results are presented on Table <br />I. The groundwater measurements indicate water levels are below the base of the <br />coal refuse.
