X11 material properties were based on the information provided Therefore, it
is recommended that furthez testing be performed on the subgnde and soil materials in order to
confirm the strength parameter used in the analysis. In addition, we also recommend that the
need Eor phrntic surface monitoring will be further evaluated based on the results of the material
testing. This will assure that the stability of the brnch fill is not compromised due to rise of the
phreatic surface within the valley fill or soil stocl~iles.
In order to achicve the design parameters, it is recommended that the following procedures be
utilized in the cons¢uction of the bench fills and pond embankmrnt
•
1) [lave a Registered Engineer verify fill and subgnde properties poor to
construction.
2) Construct embattkmrnt in maximum 2-foot horizontal lifts.
3) Compact each individual lift to 90% of Standard Proctor using available
equipment
We hope this letter meets your needs.
