This creates an abundance of clear sunny days that include a wide <br />• <br /> <br />daily temperature range. <br />Low pressure systems, that could cause abrupt weather changes, typically by- <br />pass [he northwestern Colorado region crossing over the continental divide at <br />Lower elevations [o [he north (Wyoming) or [o the far south in New Mexico. <br />Climatological factors that are representative of the region and that are <br />vital to successful reclamation efforts for mining operations are: <br />1) Average seasonal precipitation (Table 2.1-1). <br />2) Average Direction and velocity of prevailing winds. <br />3) Seasonal temperature ranges (Table 2.1-1). <br />These factors are discussed individually in Sections 2.1,2 through 2.1.4. <br />The probabilities for freezing temperatures (32°F}, for freeze-free periods; <br />and the probabilities for precipitation (inches) are presented in Tables 2.1-2 <br />and 2.1-3 respectively. <br />Heating and cooling degree days information for Craig are listed in Table <br />2.1-1. <br />2-5 <br />
