The reclamation is pretty straightforward with the sloping of
the Lakeshore to 3:1 slopes and the application of the stockpiled topsoil to provide growth
medium for the planting of native grasses, willows, cottonwood and aspen. The NRCS
has completed a grass seed mix for the site and we have attached it to this letter. This
site will grow grass vegetation fairly easily since it is in close proximity to irrigation and
the creek.
The soils are comparable to the last site, Irim loam and Gas Creek sandy loam. Both
are hydric soils and thus there will likely be some wetlands that the Corps of Engineers
will have jurisdiction over.
As long as all wetland and water quality issues are addressed, this site is great for gravel
extraction and will provide recreation and wildlife benefits to the ranch, as well as
providing a gravel resource that is needed in the area.
If you have any further questions about this letter call us at 970-642-4462
Sin/cerely,
,~
Ted T. Bemis, President
CONSERVATION-DEVELOPMENT-SELF-GOVERNMENT
