C~ <br />~nks and Gesso, LLC <br />INTRODUCTION <br />This document presents an application for a State of Colorado, Division of Minerals and <br />Geology, Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board (CMLRB) Construction Materials <br />Regular 112 Operation Reclamation Permit. <br />The Applicant, L.G. Everist, Inc., is applying for this Permit to mine sand and gravel from <br />the subject site, which includes parts of two landowners' properties, located in <br />unincorporated Weld County. Everist is permitting approximately 82 acres of the subject <br />properties. The Lohmann property consists of 65 acres and is located in the East % of <br />the Northwest Y< of Section 6, Township 3 North, Range 67 West of the 6"' P.M. in Weld <br />County. The French property consists of 17 acres and is located in parts of the <br />Northwest '/, of the Northeast '/, of Section 6, Township 3 North, Range 67 West of the <br />6'" P.M. in Weld County, Colorado. (See Exhibit B -Index Map.) Both properties are on <br />the south side of Weld County Road 26, approximately one-quarter mile east of Weld <br />County Road 13 and are about two and one-quarter miles east of Interstate 25. County <br />Road 26 marks the northern border of the properties and the Last Chance Ditch makes <br />up the southern boundary. Existing zoning and use of the subject properties and <br />surrounding properties is agricultural, residential, and oil and gas production. For clarity <br />throughout the rest of this application, we use the term "site" when referring to the total <br />permitted area of 82 acres. <br />L.G. Everist intends to mine the site to recover a substantial sand and gravel reserve of <br />significant commercial quality and quantity. The project will last at least 10 years and <br />perhaps as long as 15 years. This time frame is highly dependent upon market <br />conditions. The majority of the processed sand and gravel will be sold directly to <br />customers. A proposed concrete batch plant will utilize some of the aggregate <br />produced. <br />The end use of the site after reclamation will primarily be water storage. Further, <br />reclamation for residential development is anticipated for areas where backfill and/or <br />overburden is used to restore existing grades.
