• Time of Concentration, T~
The time of concentration was calculated using the SCS upland method (a utility of SEDCAD). All
hydraulic lengths, drainage height, and slopes were measured directly from 1" = 100', 10' contour maps.
the calculated values for each structure are shown on the SEDCAD+ printouts.
Muskingum Routing Parameters, K, X
The Muskingum Routing Parameters were also calculated using the SCS upland method. All hydraulic
lengths, drainage heights and slopes were measured directly from 1" = 100', 10' contour maps. The values
calculated between each junction and/or sub-watershed aze shown on the SEDCJ1D printouts.
Curve Numbed
Curve numbers (CN) were approximated based on hydrologic soil type, as well as type and amount of
ground cover. There are nvo primary soil types in the area, Toznorthents- Rock Outcrop (hydrologic
soil type D), and Absarokee-Work Loams (hydrologic soil type C). The predominant vegetation type N
the area is Oak Brush. Curve numbers were obtained from Technical Release No. 55 (USDA-SCS,
1986). Based on soil type and vegetation cover, the following curve numbers were detemtined for the
following conditions.
Disturbed
Soil Type: C-D
Ground Cover Type: Gravel Road
Ground Covec Baze
CN : 90
Undisturbed
Soil Type: D
Ground Cover Type: Oak-Aspen
Ground Cover: Fair to Good
CN: 57
• Undisturbed
Soil Type: D
Ground Cover Type: Oak-Aspen
Ground Cover.
