DANIELSON
State Engineer
We have reviewed the above referenced mining permit application per your request dated August
14, 199]. The following is a brief summary of the relevant aspects of the application.
1. ICiowa County proposes to mine gravel from an open pit at a 15 acre site
approximately 6 miles southwest of the town of Eads.
2. The estimated depth of the pit is 15 to 20 feet. The applicant states that ground
water will not be exposed.
3. There is no stated requirement for water at the mine site.
Based upon the above information, this project should have no impacts on water resources in the
area. The applicant should be informed that if ground water is exposed in the course of muting,
they will need to obtain a well permit in conjunction with a substitute water supply plan approved
by this office.
Please contact this office if you have further questions.
KVH/clf: barnett
•
~F ~~~o ~
~~
Re .9p.
v7 ~ O
• cFO *~
•
{ t876 ~`
OFFICE OF THE STATE ENGINEER
DIVISION OF WATER RESOURCES
cc: Sl:eve Witte, Division Engineer
Dan Neuhold, Water Commissioner
