Descriptions and •tential of soil areas <br /> ' 1. Coldcreek-Rock outcrop - Kutler area <br /> Deep and moderately deep, strongly sloping to extremely steep, well <br /> to somewhat excessively drained soils formed in material weathered from <br /> acid igneous rock. <br /> These soils are in the foothill and mountain areas in the western <br /> part of the survey area. <br /> This soil area occupies about 2 percent of the survey area. About <br /> 30 percent of the area is Coldcreek soils, 30 percent Rock outcrop, and <br /> 25 percent Kutler soils. The remaining 15 percent is soils bf minor <br /> extent. <br /> Coldcreek soil is deep and well drained and has hard fractured bedrock <br /> ( at a depth of more than 40 inches. The Rock outcrop is Pikes Peak granite <br /> and mixed acid igneous rock. The Kutler soil is moderately deep, some- <br /> what excessively drained and is over grus (highly weathered granite) at <br /> a depth of 20 to 40 inches. <br /> The minor soils in this area are the somewhat excessively drained <br /> Broadmoor soils, the well drained Tolman soil and some stony sandy loam <br /> soils over granite bedrock at depths of 10 to 20 inches. <br /> This soil area is used for home-sites, livestock grazing, recreation, <br /> wildlife habitat, and woodland. <br /> ;1 <br /> �.
