• control program. All treated areas will be reseeded with the approved seed mix to reestablish a
competitive and beneficial plant community.
Monitoring and Reoorting
Each spring prior to herbidde application, the SCC's redamation staff will survey and map all weed
infestations. The weed infestations will be mapped using a contour search pattern, i.e. following the contour
on the 100 to 200 ft. detection swath on toot or with an ATV. The information will be rewrded on an aerial
photo with a minimum scale of 1" =500 ft. scale. The map will be a permanent record available for
inspection by the Routt County weed coordinator or any other interested party.
Weed control activities at the Seneca II Mine will be reported each year to the CDMG in the Annual
Reclamation Report. This document will also be available for public inspection.
An evaluation of the effectiveness of the weed control effort will 6e included in the annual report
This weed management plan will be amended as necessary to reflect changes in species and control
methods.
• Hisloricelly, pest control has not been necessary at the Seneca 11 Mine. Based on this operating experience,
pest control is not anticipated at this time. Ongoing reclamation monitoring will identify infestations by pests.
If a pest infestation occurs, a pest control plan will be developed similar to the weed control plan
discussed above. The specific plan, based on the targeted pest, will be developed in consultation with
CDMG and inserted into the permit document as a revision submittal, when necessary.
Regrading or Stabilizing Rills and Gullies
Seeded areas will be monitored following spring snowmelt and heavy rains. If monitodng indicetes the
presence of excessive rills and gullies, closer observation will be used to determine the cause of the
gullying. These areas will be identified on a map.
Natural geomorphic processes in the redaimed area will be emphasized, taking into account the slope,
aspect, and soil conditions of the site. Further consideration will be given to the normal climatic patterns and
rate of vegetation establishment and development in the subject area. Evaluation will indude whether the
dlis and gullies will prohibit successful revegetation or will disrupt the achievement of the postmining land
use.
Based on this evaluation, several options will be available to correct the situation, These options will be a
• direct resuR of studying the situation and selecting the option that will best rectify the erosional problem.
One or more of the following options and corrective methods will be employed.
TR-37 13-27 Revised 04/05
