6.4.19 EXHIBIT S- Permanent Man-Made Structures
No comment.
6.5 GEOTECHNiCAL STABILITY EXHIBIT
As noted in the application and discussed during the inspection, blasting will likely be used in the minino
process. As a result, the applicant must comply with Rule 6.5(4) of the Construction Material Rules and
Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board which states," At sites where blasting is part
of the proposed mining or reclamation plan, the applicant shall demonstrate through appropriate blasting,
vibration, geotechnical, and structural engineering analyses, that off-site areas will not be adversely
affected by blasting".
[f the operator is uncertain about whether or not blasting will definitely be needed, the submittal of this
exhibit could be added as a stipulation to the approval of this permit which would need to be addressed
prior to conducting any blasting on the site. However, if the operator is pretty certain that blasting will be
required, this requirement should be addressed prior to approval of this permit application.
This concludes the Division's preliminary adequacy review of this application. Please remember that the
decision date for this application is November 2, 1998. If you are unable to provide satisfactory responses
to any inadequacies prior to this date, it will be your responsibility to request a extension of time to allow
for continued review of this application.
