such an event occurs and permit the river to follow the
• historic main channel. As stated in the Buckhorn Geotech
information, "This will prevent impacts to adjoining
property that could be caused by impeding the flaw".
4b. PURPOSE
The excavated sand and gravel will be loaded directly into
trucks and hauled off site to be used for road-base and/or fill
at various construction sites. The project will be
intermittant, with excavation and hauling conducted on an
"as-need" basis far various projects.
An equipment storage area and warehousing within trailer
units currently exists on the property. This area will be used
for both the gravel operation and the current uses while the
project is being conducted, so there will not be a need for
additional facilities.
It is estimated that 15,000 yd~ ^f material will be
removed annually. The project is to be a five-year operation,
with possible renewal during the fifth year. The starting date
will be as soon as permitting will allow, with a completion
date in five years.
4c. DISCHARGE ^F DREDGED OR FILL MATERIAL
Material excavated with the front-end loader will 6e
loaded directly into trucks and hauled off site. The temporary
diversion structure in Phase II will be constructed with native
• alluvium and is estimated to require 650 yd3. By allowing the
channel to remain within the Phase I excavated area during
Phase Il, stockpiles will not be needed far the operation.
The rip-rap to be used for the project will be acquired
from construction projects elsewhere. Approximately 2000 yd~
will be required and will be stockpiled on the property as it
becomes available.
F'age 4 (Application)
