Stevens
Senior Reclamation Specialist
Division of Minerals ~ Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Rm. 215
Denver, CO 80203
Re: Western Gravel Inc., South D-20 Pit, File No. M-92-102
Dear Mr. Stevens:
This office has reviewed your correspondence of October 5, 1992 concerning
the above proposed project.
A search of the Colorado Cultural Resource Inventory has indicated that
there are no known sites located within the boundaries of this project.
However, the location of this mining operation is near a drainage which
makes it highly probable that prehistoric and historic sites may be
present. If there have been no previous land altering activities in the
project area, we recommend that a cultural resource survey be undertaken to
determine if eligible cultural resources will be impacted by mining
activities. This is done in accordance with the Colorado Register of
Historic Places Act (24-80.1).
If we may be of further assistance please contact Jim Green at 866-4674.
Sincerely,
~~ ~~~, .
James E.
