Over the life of the mtne, a total of 360,00 linear cubic yards of topsoil were salvaged and
stockpiled. Table 2.05-6 describes the topsoil stockpiles and topsoil replacement parameters.
Topsoil Stockpile "C" was not needed for final reclamation purposes and subsequently seeded in
place with the "permanent" seed mixture.

• In addition, some 683,000 yazds of topsoil were stripped and directly replaced on regraded areas
as part of concurrent reclamation operattons during mining. Table 2.05-7 shows material balances
for topsoil stripping and replacement operations. Data from the January 1935 submittal indicates
that a balance of approximately 300,000 cubic yards of topsoil remained in the stockpiles at that
time.
