Candidate, Soils, Texas A&M University <br />Post Graduate Studies in Cell Biology, Colorado State University <br />EXPERIENCE <br />Project manager for Impact, Ltd., a Denver-based consulting firm, with <br />responsibilities for office as well as field activities. Principle re- <br />sponsibilities include surface coal mine environmental management, EIS <br />preparation and report writing; all phases of permit documentation, and <br />field surveys. Administrative experience includes supervision of tech- <br />nical staff, client/agency liaison, proposal writing, purchasing, marketing, <br />and finance. t•1r. Colbert has been involved in the field of reclamation for <br />five years. <br />As a Soils and Reclamation Specialist for the Colorado Division of Mined <br />Land Reclamation, Mr. Colbert reviewed reclamation and mining plans, de- <br />veloped reclamation guidelines and served as principle agronomist and <br />• soil scientist for the Division's staff and Board. He developed procedures <br />for and implemented the state/federal cooperative inspections of Colorado's <br />federal surface coal lease operations. <br />As a research technician for the Colorado State University Department of <br />Agronomy, Mr. Colbert worked on large-scale reclamation research projects, <br />including greenhouse trials, field plot studies, laboratory analyses, sta- <br />tistical treatments, and report writing. <br />Mr. Colbert spent one-and-a-half years as a touring sound man responsible <br />for professional sound reinforcement systems, including equipment acquisi- <br />tion, maintenance, set-up, and performance. His specialty was in high <br />quality sound reinforcement for "acoustical" music, i.e., for musicians <br />or groups using unamplified instruments. Since joining Impact, Ltd., his <br />experience has broadened to include industrial and environmental noise <br />measurement, sound system design and development, and room equalization and <br />reverberation control. He has been responsible for check-out and calibra- <br />tion of sophisticated noise monitoring instruments and has worked on numer- <br />ous projects involving noise data sampling and analysis for the control <br />of undesirable acoustical situations. <br />PAPERS <br />"Reclamation of Western Mine Wastes," presented in Washington, D.C.at the <br />25th Annual Meeting of the Society for Range flanagement. <br />• "Evaluation of Herbaceous Plantings for Ski Slope Stabilization at Snow- <br />mass at Aspen," submitted to the Aspen Ski Corporation. <br />Fx.x-3o <br />
