• SUMf~.ARY
In our opinion, the proposed waste dump slope design
I within Streeter Canyon of 4 horizontal to 1 vertical is ade-
^ quate, if not somewhat conservative. It appears feasible to
r begin filling at an increased slope of Z horizontal to 1
I vertical provided ground water does not build up within the
fill. Based on the limited available data, significant ground
water buildup within the fill will probably not occur. Thus
placement of elaborate and expensive drainage blankets under
the fill is probably not warranted. However, several design
and construction procedures are discussed in the report to
I minimize ground water builduu and to monitor the performance
of the embankment. As filling proceeds, depending upon the
site and fill conditions, it may be necessary to take addi-
tional steps to control ground water and/or to alter the fill
placement to obtain a more stable embankment configuration.
;•
~f
L

s',.
1~3
L"`'
