• 2.05.6(6) <br />A subsidence handbook is presented in Volume III, Exhibit 15. This <br />handbook addresses the necessity for repair and restoration as well as repair <br />and restoration procedures for surface streams, ponds, springs, <br />groundwater, landslides and roads and trails. <br />Additionally, any surface improvements (existing or permitted) which are <br />damaged or destroyed by subsidence will be restored, rehabilitated or <br />replaced by the Operator. With respect to the Bruce Park Reservoir and <br />dam, should structural damage result from mining-related activities, the <br />Operator will repair the damage and will also be responsible for damage to <br />injured parties. If deemed necessary by the DMG and the surface <br />management agency to provide for continuance of existing land uses, land- <br />surface contours affected by subsidence will be restored to premining <br />conditions. <br />(f)(v) A narrative of the detailed description of measures to be taken to determine <br />• the degree of material damage or diminution of value or foreseeable use of <br />the surface follows: <br />(f)(v)(A) <br />The features which might be materially damaged by subsidence include the <br />water resources, roads and trails and landslides within the permit and <br />adjacent area. The creeks, springs and ponds within the area projected to <br />be mined in current mine plan (ref. Map 14) have been extensively <br />monitored. The water level and water quality of the groundwater within the <br />formation has also been monitored. The results of the monitoring are <br />presented in Volume III, Exhibit 3. Map 6, Geologic Hazards, shows the <br />present location of existing landslides, debris flow, potentially unstable <br />slopes and rock fall hazards. <br />No pre-subsidence survey is proposed for the power line support towers in <br />Terror creek because this structure is not within the permit boundary or <br />adjacent area. Apre-subsidence survey will be done for Terror Creek <br />Reservoir and dam prior to any mining within one mile of the structure. <br /> <br />PR-o4 2.05 - 111 - o2/ot <br />
