Box 1150 <br />Silverthome, Colorado 80498 <br />825-1089 (metro) <br />This site is the future location of an aggregate extraction operation with all associated facilities. <br />This property currently is the location of an active cattle ranching operation. State Highway #9 <br />is located on the east side of the property. There aze no other improved roads surrounding the <br />property. Drainage at the site is generally from west to east. There are several existing <br />drainageways (Vendette Creek, Maryland Creek, and Old Whetstone Creek) that cross the <br />property from the west to east before passing under the highway to drain into the Blue River. <br />There are also several existing stockponds and irrigation ditches within the property. This <br />property consists of 216 acres of which approximately 145 acres will be disturbed by the mining <br />operation. <br />The site is not located within the Blue River 100-year floodplain. <br />2.0 Description of Operation <br />This operation will be an aggregate extraction operation using wet mining techniques not <br />requiring dewatering of the site. Aggregate extraction will occur from the south to the north in <br />Phases I and Il. Extraction will progress from the north to the south for Phases III thru VI. This <br />operation will produce approximately 450,000 tons of materials per year. <br />Crushing and screening equipment will be brought on-site to create and size aggregate for asphalt <br />and concrete materials. Aggregate washing facilities with settling ponds will also be located <br />within the processing site. An asphalt plant and a concrete plant will be located in the processing <br />site. <br />An office building, shop and a truck scale will be set up near the access point of the processing <br />site. Haul roads will be constructed throughout the site far internal access to the active mining <br />
