<br />bstract <br />On November 17, 1977, pedestrian surrey of four proposed drill hole locations <br />a proposed mining waste disposal area, a power plant, and several nearby areas was <br />conducted by Gozdon and Kranzush -Archaeological Consultants for Western Slope Car- <br />bon, Incorporated in Tovrnship 13 South, Range 90 West, Sections 1, 10, 11, and 12 of <br />Gurmison County and Toimship 14 South, Range 92 Ylest , Section 2 of Delta County, <br />Colorado. Fdnds included a prehistoric isolated find (flake)s an historic isolated <br />find (bottle), a prehistoric locality (Sour flakes), and the remains of the Town <br />of Oliver and Oliver Ffine operations. These finds are discussed in the section of <br />this report entitled "Inventory Results". No materials located were deemed eligible <br />for nomination to the Plational Register of Historic Places, and no impact to pre- <br />viously recorde3 sites is anticipated. Conditional clearance pending completion of <br />an Historical American Er~ineering Recozd for the Oliver Power Plant is recommended. <br />Unconditional clearance is recorJnended for all other project areas.
