Colorado Distribution Latilon9 Studies (Montrose region)
The following tables list three species of mammals (Table 1), birds
(Table 2), and herptiles (Table 3) known to occur in the Montrose region of
west-central Colorado which encompasses the lease area. The species described
are based on distributions in Colorado using the Latilong system (Bissell 1978,
Kingery and Graul 1976, Langlois 1978). This method divides the state into
twenty-eight blocks based on one degree latitude and longitude (see attached
map). The Montrose region is indicated as one of these blocks.
